On August 3rd, we held our Sunday worship services in our historic location on Chestnut Street in Western Springs.
This special service was part of our continued celebration of our church’s 125th anniversary. The site is now a Masonic Lodge but was previously the home of our congregation until we moved to our current site in the 1950s. The service included an opening call to worship in Swedish and featured communion liturgy that was used by the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1888. We were joined in worship, holy communion, and fellowship by Rev. Kate Spelman and friends from All Saints Episcopal. Thank you them, the members of the Masonic Lodge 1136, and everyone else who made this wonderful time of worship and fellowship possible. After the service, we had a church picnic and time of fellowship in there at the site formerly known at the Swedish Methodist Church of Western Springs.
